Security engineers and security architects
Assess AI-specific threats and select safeguards for AI-enabled systems and their supporting infrastructure.
Artificial Intelligence · PECB
AI security includes the models, data and infrastructure a system depends on. CAISP connects AI foundations with attack analysis, safeguards and security operations so you can reason about how an AI-enabled service might fail—and what evidence supports its protection.
Study online in English with official PECB slides, reading, practical examples and exercises. This Self-Study format lets you revisit the concepts independently and connect them with your existing security experience.
CAISP is particularly relevant to:
This is a professional security pathway, not a beginner's introduction to using AI chat tools. PECB expects established cybersecurity knowledge, including threat modelling, access control, monitoring and incident response, alongside introductory familiarity with AI training, data pipelines and APIs.
Assess AI-specific threats and select safeguards for AI-enabled systems and their supporting infrastructure.
Connect AI attack scenarios with secure development, testing and deployment decisions.
Understand AI-related threats and connect detection, investigation and response activities.
Develop knowledge of adversarial AI techniques for assessments performed with the system owner's authorisation.
Assess security risks across models, data pipelines and deployed AI applications.
For policy, accountability and regulatory-governance responsibilities, compare EU AI Governance Professional. Your work responsibilities and existing knowledge matter more than your job title; completing this course does not automatically qualify you for these roles or satisfy the full CAISP credential requirements.
Your course package includes official PECB materials, the initial examination attempt and the certification application fee. An eligible examination retake and the first year's annual maintenance fee are included under PECB's conditions.
This offer does not include recorded video lessons, live teaching or Aegentra Labs access. No hosted practical environment is advertised as included.
PECB states that the Self-Study examination/certification cycle runs for 12 months from purchase. A failed attempt does not start another 12 months. Material-access duration and examination deadlines are separate; confirm the material-access entitlement before enrolling and check current PECB booking and retake conditions.
AI, machine learning, deep learning and large language models.
Prompt injection, poisoned training data, adversarial inputs, model extraction and supply-chain weaknesses.
Controls, architecture and security governance.
Monitoring, threat intelligence, hunting and incident response.
AI red teaming and prompt testing, with the use of AI in security-analysis workflows.
PECB references MITRE ATLAS and OWASP LLM guidance within its learning objectives. Familiarity with a framework does not itself demonstrate that a system is secure.
Conventional application controls remain important, but they do not answer every AI-specific question. A model may be exposed to manipulated inputs; its training data may be compromised; sensitive information may be disclosed through its use. AI security therefore considers integrity and reliability alongside confidentiality, availability and access protection throughout development and operation.
PECB's agenda moves through four curriculum stages followed by the examination:
Its five-day agenda is not a guaranteed five-day Self-Study completion time or an offer of live instruction.
Illustrative example—not a claim about supplied course labs.
A customer-support assistant reads documents and drafts answers. Before deployment, ask which sources it may trust, what information it may disclose and which actions require human approval. Test those boundaries with authorised scenarios, record the evidence and define how a suspected failure is investigated. The aim is an explicit security decision, not confidence based solely on the model's fluent answers.
The assessment spans foundations, threats, defensive operations, AI-assisted analysis and governance/architecture. Exact examination duration, question count, pass mark and permitted reference material must be checked against the current PECB exam record.
Passing the accepted examination is followed by a separate PECB application. The full CAISP credential requires five years' professional experience, including two in information security or cybersecurity, and 300 project hours. The provisional designation has no professional or project experience requirement. Ethics requirements and PECB's approval still apply; an exam pass is not an automatic full CAISP award.
PECB lists more than 320 pages of materials and a completion attestation carrying 31 CPD credits. Neither establishes an exact Self-Study learning-hour estimate.
Check PECB's current examination informationChoose CAISP for technical security risks and defensive operation. Choose EU AI Governance Professional for regulatory governance. Choose ISO/IEC 42001 training for AI management-system foundations, implementation or auditing.
Focus on European AI regulatory governance, responsibilities and evidence.
Choose Foundation, Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor when your work concerns an AI management system.
Choose technical AI security when your priority is understanding attacks, defensive controls and secure operation.
Compare AI governance, management and security qualifications
No. CAISP is the Artificial Intelligence Security Professional qualification. Do not confuse its security focus with the existing Certified AI Professional course; compare each course’s syllabus and prerequisites.
Yes, these are among the AI-specific attack topics identified in PECB’s public course descriptions. Understanding them is one part of a broader security programme, not a guarantee that all attacks can be prevented.
The supplied Aegentra format is English slide-based Self-Study. Recorded video lessons, live classes and Aegentra Labs access are not included.
A qualification does not grant permission to test another organisation's systems. Testing requires the system owner's authorisation and an agreed scope.
