The Annex A (Controller) and Annex B (Processor) control sets map directly onto the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). ISO 27701 is not a certification of GDPR compliance — only EU regulators can determine that. But the standard was written with GDPR in mind. Indirectly. Procurement teams ask whether your organisation holds the ISO 27001 + ISO 27701 certifications (which are awarded to companies, not individuals). The Foundation credential does not expire and does not require renewal. The certificate is dated and refers to the ISO/IEC 27701:2025 edition; if the standard is significantly revised in future you may choose to take a refresher course, but there is no mandatory recertification.
