A single credential — PECB Certified Artificial Intelligence Manager — awarded on passing the exam, attesting two years of artificial intelligence management experience, and signing the PECB Code of Ethics. No project experience is required. Maintained through continuing professional development (CPD) credits.

An exam pass is the first step. You must submit PECB's certification application and required declarations and references. PECB decides whether the requirements for the requested credential tier are met.

PECB’s current maintenance policy lists no maintenance fee for Foundation, Provisional, or Transition credentials. For all other PECB certifications, the published fee is $390 per three-year certification cycle, together with the applicable CPD requirements and continued adherence to the PECB Code of Ethics. Can I pay in NZD or another currency, and when is Australian GST added?

Yes. Every Academy course supports AUD and multiple local currencies, including NZD, USD, SGD, GBP, EUR, INR, AED, MYR, PHP, IDR, and VND when a live quote is available. Currency and tax are separate: an Australian billing address adds 10% GST, while a non-Australian billing address has no Australian GST. For example, an Australian working in New Zealand may pay in NZD and use an Australian billing address, but 10% GST will still be added because the billing address is Australian.

CAIM is PECB’s own credential for managing AI initiatives in practice: prioritising use cases, governing them, reporting on them with dashboards, and automating workflows. If you need the certifiable management system, start with ISO 42001. If you need to run the AI portfolio, CAIM is the closer fit. They complement each other well.

What does the exam cover?

Three hours across five competency domains: AI foundations, strategy and opportunity management; AI governance, policy and risk management; prompt engineering, decision intelligence and Power BI; foundations of AI-driven automation; and generative AI and automation use cases.

What experience do I need for the credential?

The PECB Certified Artificial Intelligence Manager credential requires passing the exam, two years of artificial intelligence management experience, and signing the PECB Code of Ethics. Unlike the ISO schemes, no project experience hours are required, and there is a single credential tier rather than a Provisional / Lead / Senior ladder.

What tools will I actually use?

Power BI for data analysis and interactive dashboards, and n8n for building and orchestrating AI agents. There is also a dedicated prompt engineering lab on Day 2. All three are hands-on labs rather than demonstrations.

What CPD credits do I earn?

Thirty-one CPD credits — an attestation of course completion is issued on finishing the course. These count toward the CPD requirements of ISACA, IIA Australia, and other professional bodies on submission.
