CAIP is the technical credential — machine learning, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, robotics, and AI security, aimed at people designing and managing AI systems. CAIM is the management credential — governance, data readiness, Power BI dashboards, and no-code automation in n8n, aimed at people leading AI initiatives. CAIP goes deeper into how AI works; CAIM goes deeper into how AI is governed and reported. Many organisations want one of each rather than two of the same.
They answer different questions. ISO/IEC 42001 is a certifiable management system standard — an organisation is audited against it. CAIP is an individual technical credential about building and securing AI systems. If you need the AIMS for a certification audit, start with ISO 42001. If you need people who can genuinely assess the systems inside that scope, CAIP is the better fit.
It helps. CAIP is the technical track and covers model building, deep learning architectures, and NLP techniques. The course starts from foundations, but a working understanding of data concepts will make the pace comfortable. If you want AI leadership content without the model-building depth, CAIM is the better starting point.
Three hours across seven competency domains: fundamental concepts and principles of AI; data analysis and visualisation; building machine learning models; deep learning and natural language processing; computer vision and robotics; AI security; and AI ethics, governance, and strategy.
Yes. PECB delivers practical labs in a virtual environment accessed through a web browser, so there is nothing to install locally. The labs run across the machine learning, deep learning, and NLP material.
The PECB Certified Artificial Intelligence Professional credential requires passing the exam, two years of artificial intelligence experience, and signing the PECB Code of Ethics. No project experience hours are required, and there is a single credential tier rather than a Provisional / Lead / Senior ladder.
